At FreedomEV, we imagined a radically different future—one where true ownership and control over vehicles is not just an illusion, but a fundamental right. A future where innovation empowers individuals, rather than serving as a tool for corporate overreach.
In our vision, people would not be locked into restrictive ecosystems, where software locks and remote access dictate how, when, or even if they can use the vehicles they purchased. Instead, real ownership would mean full control over hardware and software, allowing for customization, repairability, and true autonomy in personal transportation.
But beyond personal freedom, we envisioned a system where the wealth generated by electric vehicles would serve the greater good—accelerating the transition to renewable energy, fostering decentralized and community-driven infrastructure, and reducing dependence on corporate-controlled networks.
Unfortunately, we now see a reality in which the profits from EV sales are being used to delay the shift toward sustainability. Instead of reinvesting in a clean, independent energy future, these funds are being diverted to undermine renewable energy initiatives, consolidate corporate and political power, and even manipulate governments in ways that work against the interests of everyday people.
Elon Musk and Tesla have changed their stance and have been very counterproductive towards our - and their own - original mission. Too bad. Time to move on.
